Recollection landscape

Recollection is a body of work focusing on floral landscapes, whose intent is exquisitely meditative.

The composition begins with photographs selected from magazines or personal archives, which are cut, assembled, redrawn in graphite or coloured pencils and then enhanced with pastels and pigments. Next, acrylic colours are sprayed on the drawing as a final layer, the “glaze”, which shrouds the initial drawing like a Renaissance-style sfumato.

“Recollection is a rapid, controlled process that allows the retrieval of details associated with a previously experienced event.”
