Day after day I saw her in bed, heard her cry and looked at the vacuum in her eyes. Until finally one day she told me she had decided to be hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital. She stayed there for a year. I saw her after 6 months. On the day of my first visit, I collected all my piggy bank money and asked my grandmother to come with me to a flower shop. I recollect the roses I chose, the pale pink color, the small size, and their intense smell. The image of that bouquet is still so vivid. During my meditation and autohypnosis practice, I had a recurrent image of myself as a young girl in a nightgown, long hair, waking up at night and going to a garden. "I was 12 or 13, i slept with headphones and a k7 tape was playing michael jackson, i had an urge to say sugarcubes but i wasn't a cool kid. I was eating a chocolate and felt asleep with it melting in my mouth. I was in a lake in a boat, small boat, those you need to paddle, i know nothing about boats and i am afraid of water since i almost drown when i was 5. Odd dream.There was a girl with me there, never met her before. She was skinny and had light skin, light brown hair and light brown eyes, I always described her like that, I didn't know then that hazel was a possible color. I would say hazel if I knew.She said something soft, she could speak softly, that was new to me. I was in a place that would invoke fear, but i felt safe. "Everything is going to be ok", a bold statement, naïve statement. But when you are a teenager you are both, so i believed her. She moved like a Japanese lady but fast, proper Japanese, Kyoto Japanese. She wasn't Asian at all, but she moved in such a delicate way that she was like a cloud, like an albatross, moving fast effortlessly. I always had a Hummingbird inside and outside, still.I met many beautiful women in my life, but like that was the first. I guess she was beautiful to me, weird and misfit, people always like the mirror.Sometimes I remember her dressed in blue, sometimes it was white. I don't know for sure. We were facing each other in the small boat, i stopped paddling and we kissed, it was the first time i kissed someone i was in love. Then i choked with the melted chocolate. For weeks I tried to repeat the dream, the same k7 tape and the same chocolate, I couldn't dream again about her. So I waited. I waited for the girl that I never met before. I like to think that I never met her after. Because if I did, i lost her. She came when i wasn't ready for peace or when I wasn't paying attention. Life has a way of distracting us. Sometimes I dream about a girl, she is old like me, I wonder if she is the same girl from the boat, if she is, is she coming?
