Recollection is a body of work focusing on floral landscapes, whose intent is exquisitely meditative.
The composition begins with photographs selected from magazines or personal archives, which are cut, assembled, redrawn in graphite or coloured pencils and then enhanced with pastels and pigments. Next, acrylic colours are sprayed on the drawing as a final layer, the “glaze”. The resulting landscapes are haloed in a romantic and sometimes worrying mist, punctuated by several stronger spots of colour.
“Recollection is a rapid, controlled process that allows the retrieval of details associated with a previously experienced event.”
